Video: How to Watch and Save Footage on Defender 4K (8MP) DVR Security System
In this video, we will walk you through the process of playing back, and saving footage to a USB thumb drive, with the Defender 4K (8MP) DVR.
To review your recorded footage, right-click to access the quick menu.
After you enter your password, click Playback.
On the right side of the screen, select the cameras from which you want to view recordings.
If there’s footage from that camera, the calendar will highlight the dates where recordings exist. The color of the date will vary from Blue for continuous recording, or red for motion recording.
Double click the date you want to view.
A blue or red bar will appear at the bottom of the screen at times when footage was recorded.
Click and drag the yellow playback indicator to move quickly through footage, or use the playback functions at the bottom of the screen to fast forward, reverse or skip 30 seconds at a time.
To back up or save your video, insert a thumb drive with up to 32GB of memory.
To save a short period of time, you can use the Clipping button to start and stop a clip where you like.
Next, you’ll have the opportunity to select that file for backup.
When you export the file, you will also have to export the video player to view the footage.
Anyone who needs to watch the footage will need this software.
To back up large amounts of footage, you can use the export option found on the main menu.
Select the channel to search for footage.
Select the start and end date and time.
A screen showing snapshots of footage will appear.
Click the checkbox in the top left corner of the snapshot to select it for backup.
Click Export with the USB thumb drive inserted.
Click export to save the footage.
Once you’ve moved the footage to the thumb drive, you can connect the drive to a USB port on your computer.
Open the drive when it loads on the computer and run the Player file.
Extract the Player_ml folder to your desktop and run the file player inside.
You can now use this software to view your files!
